Mrs. Willner is a partner and co-managing partner of Saavedra-Goodwin, and she merged her private practice with the firm. Born in New Jersey, Mrs. Willner receiver her B.A. in 1979 from Florida Atlantic University and her J.D. in 1987 from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she achieved Dean's List recognition and was President of the Moot Court Board for two years.
Mrs. Willner is admitted to the Bars of Florida and Colorado. She served as an Attorney/Special Magistrate for the Value Adjustment Board in Miami-Dade County for twelve years and is currently serving on the Board in Broward County. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil, Appellate, Family, and County Court Mediator. Mrs. Willner also serves on the Mediator Qualification and Discipline Review Board, representing Broward County (Circuit), and serves as an Investigator for the Mediator Qualifications Board for the State of Florida. Furthermore, Mrs. Willner serves as a FINRA panel arbitrator and as a mediator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida in the Student Loan Program and the Mortgage Modification Mediation Program.
Mrs. Willner has earned the distinction of an AV Preeminent rating by the Martindale Hubbell Association for both the legal and judicial professions. The AV rating identifies preeminent legal ability and reflects the experience, integrity and professionalism of the recipient, as well as a commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards.
Mrs. Willner specializes in all aspects of commercial real estate transactional law, residential real estate transactional law, corporate law, and mortgage law. She has represented developers, lenders (institutional and private) and borrowers, as well as buyers and sellers of real estate. She has also been responsible for acquisitions, sales, and financing of warehouse/industrial projects, multi-use properties, co-operatives, shopping centers, vacant land for development, mobile home parks, ACLFs, office buildings, and apartment conversions to condominiums.
During her career, Mrs. Willner was the lead attorney on the highest priced office building sales transaction in Aventura. She has handled contract sale and purchase negotiations; negotiating and closing of A & D loans, construction, equity, conduit, and mezzanine loans for lenders and borrowers; formation of entities; drafting of partnership agreements, operating agreements, bylaws, and employment agreements; all due diligence; drafting of association documents; leases; buyers/sellers closing documents; loan documents; 1031 exchanges; developer purchase and sale agreements; issuance of title commitments and final policies; land use and zoning; tax appeals; and ILSA, RESPA, and TILA compliance.
